Arcalia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Old Boys the free kick. Ion Nisipeanu kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. A collision led to Arcalia getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Eugen Chițu hit a great ball. Petre Scorţea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Mihail Magheran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristian Pomuț showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcu Becheanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After 20 minutes, Romeo Loga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Arcalia and the Old Boys players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodor Corbea in the 40th minute of play forced Old Boys's goalkeeper Mihail Magheran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Teodor Corbea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 45 minutes into the match, Old Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Teodor Corbea came free, but Mihail Magheran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Petre Scorţea was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Teodor Corbea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arcalia's supporters rose to their feet, but Teodor Corbea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mihail Magheran breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Teodor Corbea might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mihail Magheran. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Teodor Corbea ran back to his position shaking his head. 56 minutes into the match, Old Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Petre Scorţea came free, but Mihail Magheran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Old Boys's zone, Romeo Loga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mihail Magheran came out of the goal and Romeo Loga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 71 minutes into the game, Petre Scorţea cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Mihail Magheran was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Francisc Niță charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Petre Scorţea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihail Magheran having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Dan Daimacă got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Old Boys's Mihail Magheran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petre Scorţea in the 93rd minute of play.
