The supporters of Paiuseni booed when CFR Cluj was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marius Manole didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emil Tache sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emil Tache received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Marcu Cucerzan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicodim Stoicescu took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcu Cucerzan. Marcu Cucerzan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Marcu Cucerzan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emil Tache, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicodim Stoicescu charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nicodim Stoicescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 17th minute, Nicodim Stoicescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Horia Grama received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Dacian Gurzău tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexandru Panciu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dacian Gurzău having to make a save. Pompiliu Bute kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Emil Tache fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcu Cucerzan having to interfere. CFR Cluj's Horia Grama got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alexandru Panciu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dacian Gurzău having to interfere. Horia Grama's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 41stth minute, Dacian Gurzău skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 42nd minute, Pompiliu Bute hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alexandru Panciu might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dacian Gurzău. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alexandru Panciu ran back to his position shaking his head. Horia Grama sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. CFR Cluj's Alexandru Panciu got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 46th minute, Alexandru Panciu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 55th match minute, Paiuseni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petrică Bucuță to maneuver through the defense. 56 minutes into the match, CFR Cluj's David Popean broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Marcu Cucerzan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emil Tache in the 58th minute of the match. CFR Cluj's Marcu Cucerzan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emil Tache in the 59th minute of play. Marcu Cucerzan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emil Tache, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Dacian Gurzău made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horia Grama in the 82nd minute of play. Paiuseni's Emil Tache got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aristide Miniș kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Emil Tache sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eugen Nenciu hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. In the 89th minute, Emil Tache fired away a free kick at the goal, but hit it at the wrong angle and it went over the crossbar. Emil Tache received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Marcu Cucerzan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Paiuseni players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
