An unexpectedly hard shot by Traian Velicu in the 23rd minute of play forced FC Sustiu's goalkeeper Pavel Ruşdea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, FC Sustiu's goal looked a bit too open when Pavel Nițisor came free, but Pavel Ruşdea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 26 minutes, Mădălin Dășanu made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. FC Sustiu's Pavel Ruşdea tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Marcu Văcărescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gheorghe Ciocoiu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

FC Sustiu's Pavel Ruşdea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save FC Sustiu from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Carta FCM's Traian Velicu got a free kick in the 58th minute. Carta FCM's Mădălin Dășanu got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Romeo Bălășescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gheorghe Ciocoiu having to interfere. In the 90th minute of the game Manuel Romeo made a throw-in which Traian Velicu played forward. Marcu Văcărescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Gheorghe Ciocoiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcu Văcărescu in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gheorghe Ciocoiu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. FC Sustiu's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
