Nechifor Tilea struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Calistrat Teodoreanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dragonul. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nechifor Tilea couldn't finish the play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Vintilă prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nechifor Ivăncioiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Calistrat Teodoreanu came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Dragonul's Nechifor Ivăncioiu. But to his dismay, Nechifor Ivăncioiu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After a rather tough play, FC Barcelona's Valentin Boc got a free kick in the 54th minute. In the 55th minute Nechifor Ivăncioiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calistrat Teodoreanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 57th minute of the match Dragonul got a corner. FC Barcelona's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gabriel Hăulică got free with David Vintilă in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Calistrat Teodoreanu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nechifor Ivăncioiu went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gabriel Hăulică got free with David Vintilă in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 80 minutes into the match, FC Barcelona's Manole Cozorici sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that David Vintilă narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gabriel Hăulică got free with David Vintilă in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. David Vintilă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Corneliu Drogoreanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. 89 minutes into the match, Dragonul's goal looked a bit too open when Corneliu Drogoreanu came free, but David Vintilă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Corneliu Drogoreanu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. David Vintilă came out and tried to block the shot, but Corneliu Drogoreanu slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 91st minute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
