Spectators: 6858 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1758, VIP seats: 100) Rareș Vătavu made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 6th minute Doru Mitică shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adam Ghionescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Doru Mitică came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the CFR 1907 CLUJ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Doru Mitică couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Rivulus CF booed when CFR 1907 CLUJ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gică Mahonea didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th minute, Augustin Bejan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rivulus CF's goalkeeper Adam Ghionescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tudor Tase blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adam Ghionescu having to make a save. Doru Mitică recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Rivulus CF defense, Tudor Tase kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adam Ghionescu. The Rivulus CF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adam Ghionescu should have stopped the shot. If Doru Mitică had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tudor Tase blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adam Ghionescu having to make a save. Gavril Bogatu struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Adam Ghionescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CFR 1907 CLUJ. Dorin Mircescu shot from long distance in the 41st minute, but Mădălin Jerca was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. CFR 1907 CLUJ's defense didn't have a chance, in the 42nd minute, when Rareș Vătavu scored to the left of an out of position Mădălin Jerca, making the score, 1-2. Gavril Bogatu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Adam Ghionescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Doru Mitică to make the kick off. The supporters of CFR 1907 CLUJ booed when Rivulus CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emil Găvănescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rivulus CF's Adam Ghionescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gavril Bogatu in the 54th minute of play. Augustin Bejan struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Adam Ghionescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CFR 1907 CLUJ. When Doru Mitică came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the CFR 1907 CLUJ fans jumped to their feet. In the 71st minute, Gavril Bogatu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Adam Ghionescu. The goal made the score 1-3. Ioan Logofeteanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adam Ghionescu having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Augustin Bejan during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 80 played minutes CFR 1907 CLUJ got a freekick which was hit by Augustin Bejan. 82 minutes into the match, CFR 1907 CLUJ's goal looked a bit too open when Emilian Bădilescu came free, but Mădălin Jerca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Rivulus CF's zone, Tudor Tase stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adam Ghionescu came out of the goal and Tudor Tase tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Doru Mitică received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Adam Ghionescu came out and tried to block the shot, but Doru Mitică slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 88th minute. Mădălin Jerca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rareș Vătavu in the 96th minute of the match. The Rivulus CF fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. CFR 1907 CLUJ were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
