In the 3rd match minute, Rapid Bucuresti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gheorghe Hurmuzescu to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Tudor Tase managed to get in a good position for a shot. CFR 1907 CLUJ's supporters rose to their feet, but Tudor Tase was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leontin Comșa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Gheorghe Hurmuzescu fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rapid Bucuresti's protests and gave Gheorghe Hurmuzescu a yellow card for diving instead. Gheorghe Hurmuzescu kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Leontin Comșa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gavril Bogatu in the 12th minute of the match. Leontin Comșa was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tudor Tase showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 14 minute of play. Leontin Comșa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Doru Mitică in the 18th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Rapid Bucuresti's goal looked a bit too open when Augustin Bejan came free, but Leontin Comșa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mădălin Jerca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adam Bunoaică, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Doru Mitică scored 2-0 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leontin Comșa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Leontin Comșa was a little too slow when Tudor Tase got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 3-0. In the 31st match minute, Rapid Bucuresti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Avram Panduru to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd minute, Claudiu Todericiu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Doru Mitică fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leontin Comșa having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Rapid Bucuresti's goal looked a bit too open when Tudor Tase came free, but Leontin Comșa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gavril Bogatu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ioan Logofeteanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leontin Comșa having to interfere. Leontin Comșa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Doru Mitică in the 42nd minute. Augustin Bejan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adam Bunoaică to make the kick off. Augustin Bejan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leontin Comșa having to interfere. Leontin Comșa came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by CFR 1907 CLUJ's Augustin Bejan. But to his dismay, Augustin Bejan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Denis Brănescu's late challenge caught a Rapid Bucuresti's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Denis Brănescu helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, CFR 1907 CLUJ's Denis Brănescu got a free kick in the 66th minute. Petru Ghișe was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 67th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. A collision led to Rapid Bucuresti getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Avram Panduru hit a great ball. 71 minutes into the match, Doru Mitică had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leontin Comșa. Rapid Bucuresti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Doru Mitică was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. Doru Mitică sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Tudor Tase had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gavril Bogatu might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leontin Comșa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gavril Bogatu ran back to his position shaking his head. Augustin Bejan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leontin Comșa having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Rapid Bucuresti's Ivan Văidianu got a free kick in the 84th minute. The supporters of CFR 1907 CLUJ booed when Rapid Bucuresti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gheorghe Hurmuzescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. The corner led CFR 1907 CLUJ's Ioan Logofeteanu to fire away a dangerous shot which Leontin Comșa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 91 minutes into the match, Rapid Bucuresti's goal looked a bit too open when Doru Mitică came free, but Leontin Comșa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Doru Mitică had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Augustin Bejan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee ended the match the CFR 1907 CLUJ players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
