Ferdinand Ecobescu struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Denis Taşcău didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mariuta. Ferdinand Ecobescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denis Taşcău having to interfere. Ferdinand Ecobescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Denis Taşcău tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Mariuta booed when Tetcoiul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vasile Dobrin didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Tetcoiul's goalkeeper Denis Taşcău had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Iordache Dărmănescu. After a rather tough play, Tetcoiul's Vlad Brașoveanu got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 21st match minute, Tetcoiul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aurel Remus to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute, Silviu Negulescu sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Tetcoiul's Denis Taşcău didn't even have to move. A collision led to Mariuta getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Corneliu Ciocârlan hit a great ball. Eugen Vârnav made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mihail Zburlea in the 30th minute of play. After 33 minutes, Lucrețiu Hoduț mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mariuta and the Tetcoiul players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 34th minute, Lucrețiu Hoduț hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. George Hârlab took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 34th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Eugen Vârnav. Mariuta's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Mariuta's Lucrețiu Hoduț sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Denis Taşcău narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lucrețiu Hoduț got his second yellow card in the match during the 46th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Lucrețiu Hoduț hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute Mihail Zburlea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugen Vârnav saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Iordache Dărmănescu to make the kick off. Denis Taşcău showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iosif Iordănescu in the 63rd minute of the match. Ferdinand Ecobescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 71st minute, Mihail Zburlea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 74 minutes into the match, Vasile Dobrin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eugen Vârnav. Mariuta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vasile Dobrin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Vasile Dobrin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Eugen Vârnav made a huge save. Mihail Zburlea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iordache Dărmănescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vasile Dobrin got free with Eugen Vârnav in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mariuta's Eugen Vârnav played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihail Zburlea in the 94th minute of play. The Mariuta supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Tetcoiul's performance. The match ended with a win for Tetcoiul.
