Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Nae Ţurlău kicked off to start the match. In the 2nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cufoaia FC's goalkeeper Daniel Cotoi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 3rd minute, Mariuta's Iordache Dărmănescu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Daniel Cotoi. Daniel Cotoi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After having played for 14 minutes, Iordache Dărmănescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mariuta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iordache Dărmănescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Iordache Dărmănescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mariuta's Iordache Dărmănescu got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Iordache Dărmănescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 28 minutes of play, Mariuta's Iordache Dărmănescu made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Daniel Cotoi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ferdinand Ecobescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Cufoaia FC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Dacian Mîțu hit a great ball. Iordache Dărmănescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Cotoi having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dacian Mîțu during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 44th match minute, Cufoaia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dacian Mîțu to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ferdinand Ecobescu to make the kick off. The supporters of Cufoaia FC booed when Mariuta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silviu Negulescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ferdinand Ecobescu took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Daniel Cotoi. Daniel Cotoi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Daniel Cotoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iordache Dărmănescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. A collision led to Mariuta getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Lucrețiu Hoduț hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iordache Dărmănescu in the 75th minute of play forced Cufoaia FC's goalkeeper Daniel Cotoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iordache Dărmănescu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Daniel Cotoi having to make a save. Iordache Dărmănescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Cotoi having to interfere. In the 91st minute Iordache Dărmănescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Cotoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 98 minutes into the game, Mariuta's Iordache Dărmănescu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Daniel Cotoi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Mariuta fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cufoaia FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
