They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Basarab Mihăescu was the one to do the kick off. Mariuta's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Călin Bădoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucrețiu Hoduț in the 61st minute of play. A collision led to FC Fortuna getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Dragoş Bourceanu hit a great ball. Ferdinand Ecobescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Călin Bădoi having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Iordache Dărmănescu got free with Călin Bădoi in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Mariuta getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Iosif Iordănescu hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Ferdinand Ecobescu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Călin Bădoi. That made the score 1-4 in the 70 minute of play. Călin Bădoi was a little too slow when Ferdinand Ecobescu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 73rd minute. The score was now 1-5. If Iordache Dărmănescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Călin Bădoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdinand Ecobescu in the 78th minute of the match. After 81 minutes, Ferdinand Ecobescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mariuta and the FC Fortuna players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 81st match minute, Mariuta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ferdinand Ecobescu to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, FC Fortuna's Călin Bădoi got control of the ball when Ferdinand Ecobescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 84th minute, Basarab Mihăescu made a precise shot to the right of Eugen Vârnav. Mariuta's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-5. Iosif Iordănescu took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Călin Bădoi. Călin Bădoi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-6. Călin Tătaru's late challenge caught a Mariuta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Călin Tătaru helped the player get up and apologised. In the 97th minute there was a penalty for Mariuta. Silviu Negulescu stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Călin Bădoi. 2-7. Octavian Morar kicked well hit freekick during the 99th minute of the match. Mariuta played a much better game than FC Fortuna and deserved their victory. The FC Fortuna players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
