The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Codruț Tudoran during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gelu Mereacre didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lucian Agudin went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Lucian Agudin was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 11th minute. Steaua 2 bd's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Damian Jder came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Craiova's Marian Lipoveanu. But to his dismay, Marian Lipoveanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 20 minutes into the match, FC Craiova's Dragoş Milea sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Damian Jder narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Dragoş Milea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Damian Jder stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marian Lipoveanu's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Dragoş Milea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 33 minutes, Sergiu Șişman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Steaua 2 bd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sergiu Șişman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Petrică Oprea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gelu Mereacre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergiu Șişman, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Dragoş Milea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Damian Jder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dragoş Milea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 92nd minute, Sergiu Șişman made a precise shot to the right of Gelu Mereacre. FC Craiova's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Many of FC Craiova's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. FC Craiova may have spent more time on the ball, but Steaua 2 bd were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
