In the 38th minute, Flavius Claudiescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Francisc Chiru took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vali Gârleanu. Vali Gârleanu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Vali Gârleanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nae Marica, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Flavius Claudiescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. PG FC's Calistrat Cîrțu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tudor Şantău in the 52nd minute of play. The supporters of Păsări Roșii booed when PG FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iustinian Goma didn't get a good kick on the ball. PG FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisc Chiru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vali Gârleanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
