Basarab Andrieșanu struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Iurie Neicu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Covragi. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mugur Bădulescu in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iurie Neicu saved STEAUA SIGHET from getting behind. In the 14th minute, Aurel Dănășel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 17 minutes into the game, Adam Gârleanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Covragi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave STEAUA SIGHET the free kick. After a rather tough play, Covragi's Adam Gârleanu got a free kick in the 17th minute. STEAUA SIGHET's Aristide Pască couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 18th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Covragi. If Dan Lăceanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of STEAUA SIGHET booed when Covragi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adam Gârleanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sandu Aldescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Horia Giuverdea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Mugur Bădulescu came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Covragi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mugur Bădulescu couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Mugur Bădulescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Covragi's supporters rose to their feet, but Mugur Bădulescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iurie Neicu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 41 minutes into the match, STEAUA SIGHET's goal looked a bit too open when Mugur Bădulescu came free, but Iurie Neicu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iurie Neicu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basarab Andrieșanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Adam Gârleanu kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. When Dan Lăceanu came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the STEAUA SIGHET fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dan Lăceanu couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Basarab Andrieșanu was the one to do the kick off. When Basarab Andrieșanu came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Covragi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basarab Andrieșanu couldn't finish the play. Dan Lăceanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. STEAUA SIGHET's Iurie Neicu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save STEAUA SIGHET from getting a goal against them. If Basarab Andrieșanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 69 minutes into the game, Mugur Bădulescu lined in a short shot 0-2 behind a frustrated Iurie Neicu. Mugur Bădulescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Iurie Neicu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Basarab Andrieșanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iurie Neicu having to interfere. Basarab Andrieșanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 77th match minute, STEAUA SIGHET was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aurel Dănășel to maneuver through the defense. 78 minutes into the match, Basarab Andrieșanu notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of STEAUA SIGHET's Iurie Neicu. Iurie Neicu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Mugur Bădulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Basarab Andrieșanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Covragi's Mugur Bădulescu got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Iurie Neicu was out of position in the 89 minute of play, and Mugur Bădulescu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mugur Bădulescu really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. Iurie Neicu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Basarab Andrieșanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match was over Covragi could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than STEAUA SIGHET throughout the match.
