The audience was convinced that Ciprian Cercelescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rareș Negru was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. When Avram Ghioane fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FCSB's protests and gave Avram Ghioane a yellow card for diving instead. Avram Ghioane kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. A collision led to Rojistea UFC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Gică Musta hit a great ball. Ciprian Cercelescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Rareș Negru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 48th minute there was a penalty for Rojistea UFC. Nicodim Negură stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rareș Negru. 1-2. After the first half Rojistea UFC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ciprian Cercelescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Călin Buteanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nechifor Firea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Avram Ghioane came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the FCSB fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Avram Ghioane couldn't finish the play. Gică Minea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aristide Chevereșan during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Rojistea UFC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Aristide Chevereșan hit a great ball. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind FCSB's goalkeeper Rareș Negru, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aristide Chevereșan's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 75thth minute, Rareș Negru skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The supporters of Rojistea UFC booed when FCSB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Buzea didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th minute of the match Gică Musta shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rareș Negru showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Rojistea UFC's goal looked a bit too open when Gică Minea came free, but Călin Buteanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rareș Negru made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aristide Chevereșan in the 89th minute. Aristide Chevereșans short, quick shot in the 92ndth minute got Rareș Negru to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ciprian Cercelescu struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Rareș Negru didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rojistea UFC. Rareș Negru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dan Teaşcă, who was totally free with the ball in the 100th minute. The Rojistea UFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
