Liviu Gavra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dan Muja in the 18th minute of the match. A collision led to Leghea Bihorului getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Gelu Eremia hit a great ball. Liviu Gavra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maxim Andrițoiu's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. After 33 minutes, Gelu Eremia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Leghea Bihorului and the STEAUA BUCUREȘTI players grew even worse after the yellow card. After the first half STEAUA BUCUREȘTI were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maxim Andrițoiu to make the kick off. STEAUA BUCUREȘTI's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Constantin Chircu in the 53rd minute. Liviu Gavra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. When the match was over STEAUA BUCUREȘTI could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Leghea Bihorului throughout the match.
