Toader Panin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurel Crețu, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. 4 minutes into the match, FCSB's goal looked a bit too open when Gelu Eremia came free, but Toader Panin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to FCSB getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Gică Budulea hit a great ball. The supporters of Leghea Bihorului booed when FCSB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Radu Hurmuzescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sorin Pârlog in the 11thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Liviu Gavra, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 16th minute, Leghea Bihorului's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Radu Hurmuzescu fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Leghea Bihorului's Liviu Gavra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihăiţă Nedelea in the 20th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Sorin Pârlog's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Liviu Gavra was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. If Sorin Pârlog had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Toader Panin came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Leghea Bihorului's Gelu Eremia. But to his dismay, Gelu Eremia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 34 minutes into the match, FCSB's Sorin Pârlog sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Liviu Gavra narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Toader Panin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorin Soare in the 36th minute of the match. Sorin Pârlog sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Toader Panin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gică Otețea went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dorin Soare to strike the kick off in the second half. Liviu Gavra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sorin Pârlog in the 51st minute of play. In the 55thth minute of the game Sorin Pârlog who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Leghea Bihorului's Liviu Gavra was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 74th minute Sorin Pârlog shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Liviu Gavra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th minute, Radu Hurmuzescu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FCSB fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Liviu Gavra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sorin Pârlog in the 79th minute of play. Radu Hurmuzescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Liviu Gavra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 82 minutes, Sorin Pârlog made it 3-2 with a short kick to the right side. Leghea Bihorului's Liviu Gavra tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Radu Hurmuzescu charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Radu Hurmuzescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 92nd match minute, FCSB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Radu Hurmuzescu to maneuver through the defense. After 94 played minutes, Leghea Bihorului's Constantin Omescu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Toader Panin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Leghea Bihorului reached it.
