Paul Zglimbea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of FCSB booed when STEAUA BUCUREȘTI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iulian Nanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute, Radu Hurmuzescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Sorin Pârlog managed to get in a good position for a shot. FCSB's supporters rose to their feet, but Sorin Pârlog was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paul Zglimbea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 25 minutes of play, STEAUA BUCUREȘTI's Dan Muja made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Toader Panin was left in no man's land by his defense there! 29 minutes into the game, Iordache Dumitrachescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. STEAUA BUCUREȘTI's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FCSB the free kick. After 29 played minutes STEAUA BUCUREȘTI got a freekick which was hit by Iordache Dumitrachescu. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Maxim Andrițoiu was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, STEAUA BUCUREȘTI's Radu Haidău got a free kick in the 55th minute. Toader Panin was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The STEAUA BUCUREȘTI fans cheered their team off the field, for while FCSB had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
