Spectators: 7495 (Terracing: 5622, Seating: 1724, VIP seats: 149) DROJDIERII's Sergiu Rebengiuc started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nechifor Loga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorin Furdui, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 8th minute, Mihăiţă Tofan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Dorin Furdui's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nechifor Loga was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, DROJDIERII's Mădălin Gorgan got a free kick in the 11th minute. The supporters of Stiinta Barlad booed when DROJDIERII was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodor Dobrotă didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mihăiţă Tofan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Nechifor Loga made a huge save. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Stiinta Barlad's goalkeeper Vlad Ţiţeica, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of DROJDIERII booed when Stiinta Barlad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pavel Cârnațiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in DROJDIERII's zone, Mihăiţă Tofan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nechifor Loga came out of the goal and Mihăiţă Tofan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. DROJDIERII's Nechifor Loga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save DROJDIERII from getting a goal against them. In the 48th minute, Sergiu Rebengiuc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dorin Furdui stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sergiu Rebengiuc blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vlad Ţiţeica having to make a save. DROJDIERII's Nechifor Loga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorin Furdui in the 62nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mădălin Gorgan during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 66th minute, Mădălin Gorgan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sergiu Rebengiuc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Nechifor Loga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stiinta Barlad. Vlad Ţiţeica made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Olimpiu Oros sent off a good shot on target. In the 95th minute Pavel Cârnațiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nechifor Loga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mihăiţă Tofan in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nechifor Loga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 98th minute, Teodor Dobrotă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
