A collision led to ASU Politehnica Timisoara getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Narcis Pumnu hit a great ball. When Adam Rareș fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ASU Politehnica Timisoara's protests and gave Adam Rareș a yellow card for diving instead. Adam Rareș hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. If Leontin Luncaniță had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute Paul Corcoveanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iacob Bârsescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in F.C. Ripensia Primavera's zone, Dacian Greavu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gică Şoimu came out of the goal and Dacian Greavu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leontin Luncaniță's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gică Şoimu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Cosmin Tofan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gică Şoimu was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. The F.C. Ripensia Primavera players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. ASU Politehnica Timisoara were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cosmin Tofan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Leontin Luncaniță shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gică Şoimu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 57th minute, Cosmin Tofan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gică Şoimu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Ripensia Primavera and the ASU Politehnica Timisoara players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cosmin Tofan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 66thth minute tested the skills of Gică Şoimu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ripensia Primavera's zone, Dacian Greavu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gică Şoimu came out of the goal and Dacian Greavu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 69 minutes of play, ASU Politehnica Timisoara's Leontin Luncaniță made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gică Şoimu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gică Şoimu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cosmin Tofan in the 74th minute of the match. Gică Şoimu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viorel Gârdan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gică Şoimu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cosmin Tofan in the 77th minute of play. F.C. Ripensia Primavera's Gică Şoimu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cosmin Tofan in the 79th minute of play. Dacian Greavu succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-5 in the 80th playminute. Leontin Luncaniță might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gică Şoimu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leontin Luncaniță ran back to his position shaking his head. Leontin Luncaniță received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Gică Şoimu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Dacian Greavu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 91stth minute of the game Cosmin Tofan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but F.C. Ripensia Primavera's Gică Şoimu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Leontin Luncaniță took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Gică Şoimu to make any attempt to save it. With his leg Gică Şoimu managed to avoid a goal in the 99thth minute, when ASU Politehnica Timisoara's Cosmin Tofan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
