ASU Politehnica Timisoara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cosmin Tofan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cosmin Tofan in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Damian Buceceanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cosmin Tofan's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 34thth minute, Damian Buceceanu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Holbav's goalkeeper Damian Buceceanu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Viorel Gârdan got free with Damian Buceceanu in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 38 minutes into the match, Holbav's goalkeeper Damian Buceceanu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Viorel Gârdan. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cosmin Tofan in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Damian Buceceanu saved Holbav from getting behind. A wasted opportunity for ASU Politehnica Timisoara. When the match had gone on for 48 minutes, Cosmin Tofan took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Damian Buceceanu to make any attempt to save it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cosmin Tofan to strike the kick off in the second half. Leontin Luncaniță's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Damian Buceceanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Cosmin Tofan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 60 minutes, Cristi Loga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Holbav and the ASU Politehnica Timisoara players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Holbav booed when ASU Politehnica Timisoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Viorel Gârdan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maxim Chiriță hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, Iacob Bârsescu successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Damian Buceceanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cosmin Tofan's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Dacian Greavu managed to get in a good position for a shot. ASU Politehnica Timisoara's supporters rose to their feet, but Dacian Greavu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Damian Buceceanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 86thth minute of the game Dacian Greavu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Holbav's Damian Buceceanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
