Costin Hârtopanu made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Laurențiu Mercescu sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Laurențiu Mercescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Baia Mare's supporters rose to their feet, but Laurențiu Mercescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Costin Hârtopanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 6th match minute, NightOwls was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Codruț Mazăre to maneuver through the defense. Costin Hârtopanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anton Negru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Claudiu Boaru hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. 12 minutes into the game, Anton Negru recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Costin Hârtopanu. Anton Negru showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Laurențiu Mercescu did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Costin Hârtopanu 17 minutes into the match. Eusebiu Nicolcioiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Eusebiu Nicolcioiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the match, Eusebiu Nicolcioiu notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of FC Baia Mare's Bogdan Teodor. Bogdan Teodor was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Bogdan Măgurean fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Baia Mare's protests and gave Bogdan Măgurean a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FC Baia Mare getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Bogdan Măgurean hit a great ball. 39 minutes into the match, NightOwls's goal looked a bit too open when Anton Negru came free, but Costin Hârtopanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute, Claudiu Boaru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Anton Negru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, NightOwls's Costin Hârtopanu got control of the ball when Laurențiu Mercescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. 48 minutes into the match, Laurențiu Mercescu dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Costin Hârtopanu, 3-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. David Alexandrescu was the one to do the kick off. With 54 minutes on the clock, Corneliu Boieru commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 54th minute, one of NightOwls:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for NightOwls. Pavel Nuțu shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After 61 played minutes FC Baia Mare got a freekick which was hit by Marius Secară. Eusebiu Nicolcioiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anton Negru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Costin Hârtopanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 71st match minute, NightOwls was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Codruț Mazăre to maneuver through the defense. 74 minutes into the game, one of NightOwls:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave FC Baia Mare a penalty, 75 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Pavel Nuțu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of NightOwls's Costin Hârtopanu. 4-1. Anton Negru struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Costin Hârtopanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Baia Mare. Claudiu Boaru hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Pavel Nuțu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 81st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Laurențiu Mercescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anton Negru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Costin Hârtopanu having to interfere. When FC Baia Mare's Laurențiu Mercescu in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye NightOwls's goalie prevented a goal. FC Baia Mare's Anton Negru got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anton Negru in the 99th minute of play forced NightOwls's goalkeeper Costin Hârtopanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
