When FC Baia Mare's Anton Negru in the 2nd minute got a chance for a shot 2nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Ciresica's goalie prevented a goal. Anton Negru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moise Mercea having to interfere. In the 10th minute Anton Negru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moise Mercea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to FC Baia Mare getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Laurențiu Mercescu hit a great ball. Ferdinand Abutnăriței's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bogdan Teodor read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Sever Tobă's late challenge caught a FC Ciresica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sever Tobă helped the player get up and apologised. Sever Tobă kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Bogdan Măgurean hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. 27 minutes into the match, FC Baia Mare's goal looked a bit too open when Codrin Cernea came free, but Bogdan Teodor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marius Secară kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. If Laurențiu Mercescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 37 minutes, Anton Negru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Baia Mare's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anton Negru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anton Negru struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Moise Mercea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Baia Mare. The supporters of FC Baia Mare booed when FC Ciresica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Traian Velicu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute Laurențiu Mercescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moise Mercea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anton Negru to make the kick off. When Marius Secară fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Baia Mare's protests and gave Marius Secară a yellow card for diving instead. Marius Secară kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Marius Secară was shown his second yellow card after 59 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 60th minute of the match Codruț Crețu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bogdan Teodor skillfully saved the ball. Anton Negru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Bogdan Măgurean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ferdinand Abutnăriței fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bogdan Teodor having to interfere. In the 78th match minute, FC Baia Mare was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cezar Manu to maneuver through the defense. After 81 minutes, Nicolae Dumitrache mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Ciresica and the FC Baia Mare players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 88th minute of the match Codruț Crețu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bogdan Teodor skillfully saved the ball. FC Baia Mare's Bogdan Teodor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Codrin Cernea in the 89th minute of play. Laurențiu Mercescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Moise Mercea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 96 minutes into the match, FC Ciresica's goalkeeper Moise Mercea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Laurențiu Mercescu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anton Negru in the 97th minute of play forced FC Ciresica's goalkeeper Moise Mercea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match was over FC Baia Mare could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Ciresica throughout the match.
