Fabian Ciorăscu took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bogdan Teodor. Bogdan Teodor dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After having played for 16 minutes, Anton Negru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Baia Mare's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anton Negru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 17 played minutes Manestii FCM got a freekick which was hit by Laurențiu Receanu. After a defensive mix-up in Manestii FCM's zone, Laurențiu Mercescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ovidiu Talianu came out of the goal and Laurențiu Mercescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Radu Lozovan struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Bogdan Teodor didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manestii FCM. After having played for 43 minutes, Anton Negru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Anton Negru made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Martin Mitrea during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Marius Secară had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 66 minutes, Leonard Corbea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Manestii FCM and the FC Baia Mare players grew even worse after the yellow card. Leonard Corbea hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Fabian Ciorăscu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bogdan Teodor having to interfere. When the match clock showed 75 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Radu Lozovan sped through FC Baia Mare's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bogdan Teodor. In the 78th match minute, FC Baia Mare was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cezar Manu to maneuver through the defense. Fabian Ciorăscu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bogdan Teodor having to interfere. Bogdan Teodor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fabian Ciorăscu in the 86th minute. Ovidiu Talianu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laurențiu Mercescu in the 90th minute of the match. Marius Secară kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Ovidiu Talianu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laurențiu Mercescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Manestii FCM had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
