After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Costică Jupâneanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rapid CFR's supporters rose to their feet, but Costică Jupâneanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aron Ştiopul breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Rapid CFR booed when Székelyföld Futball Klub was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vasile Nistorescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Costică Jupâneanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 12th minute of the match Marius Burtea sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aron Ştiopul skillfully saved the ball. 13 minutes into the game, Maxim Ciorogaru was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rapid CFR's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Székelyföld Futball Klub the free kick. Maxim Ciorogaru kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Iordache Ciurea might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aron Ştiopul. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Iordache Ciurea ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 22 minutes, Pavel Urmaticu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Székelyföld Futball Klub's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pavel Urmaticu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marin Oblemenco was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Irinel Turcu. Aron Ştiopul showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iordache Ciurea, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Aron Ştiopul showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iordache Ciurea in the 30th minute of the match. If Costică Jupâneanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Ilie Macamete had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Nicu Ruşdea fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Székelyföld Futball Klub's protests and gave Nicu Ruşdea a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Székelyföld Futball Klub getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Nicu Ruşdea hit a great ball. Costică Jupâneanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Aron Ştiopul tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rapid CFR's Iordache Ciurea got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 46 minutes, Costin Macavei mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rapid CFR and the Székelyföld Futball Klub players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 46 played minutes Rapid CFR got a freekick which was hit by Costin Macavei. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Iordache Ciurea made a kick off. Pavel Urmaticu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marin Oblemenco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ilie Macamete in the 55th minute of the match. Costică Jupâneanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marin Oblemenco came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Székelyföld Futball Klub's Pavel Urmaticu. But to his dismay, Pavel Urmaticu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ilie Macamete in the 66th minute of play forced Rapid CFR's goalkeeper Marin Oblemenco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Costică Jupâneanu kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. With a little luck, Székelyföld Futball Klub's Aron Ştiopul got control of the ball when Costică Jupâneanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Pavel Urmaticu came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Székelyföld Futball Klub fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pavel Urmaticu couldn't finish the play. Pavel Urmaticu struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Marin Oblemenco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Székelyföld Futball Klub. The supporters of Rapid CFR booed when Székelyföld Futball Klub was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicu Ruşdea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ilie Macamete received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Marin Oblemenco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marin Oblemenco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pavel Urmaticu in the 87th minute of play. Rapid CFR's Iordache Ciurea got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 97 minutes into the game, Székelyföld Futball Klub's Pavel Urmaticu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marin Oblemenco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Székelyföld Futball Klub had won after a very even match.
