Narcis Opriș fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonard Honcioiu having to interfere. Leonard Honcioiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narcis Opriș in the 20th minute of play. After 25 minutes, Ferdinand Pistol mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fc. Rapid 1923 and the FC Upmark players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ferdinand Pistol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Narcis Opriș struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Leonard Honcioiu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fc. Rapid 1923. The attack was good, but when Ferdinand Pistol in the 31st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Silviu Cazacu hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. If Narcis Opriș had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Fc. Rapid 1923 were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Rapid 1923's Gigel Caramarin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alin Drăghici in the 59th minute of play. Gigel Caramarin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alin Drăghici, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Silviu Cazacu kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Narcis Opriș got free with Leonard Honcioiu in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC Upmark fans cheered their team off the field, for while Fc. Rapid 1923 had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
