After a defensive mix-up in DINAMO's zone, Dan Ivan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Basarab Mustață came out of the goal and Dan Ivan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 6 played minutes DINAMO got a freekick which was hit by Avram Văcaru. Basarab Mustață didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dan Ivan went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of DINAMO booed when Tata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Liviu Coja didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Dan Ivan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dan Ivan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Basarab Mustață having to make a save. Tata's attack was well implemented in the 23rd minute, but when Marcu Mugur was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Gheorghe Bodea kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Laurențiu Armanca helped the player get up and apologised. After 35 played minutes Tata got a freekick which was hit by Laurențiu Armanca. DINAMO's Marcel Apolzan couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 35th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Tata. In the 39th minute, Marcu Mugur left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tata fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 44th match minute, DINAMO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florin Encuțoiu to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th match minute, Tata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laurențiu Armanca to maneuver through the defense. The DINAMO players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Tata were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dorin Ignea was the one to do the kick off. Horia Dragotescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remus Şimoc in the 53rd minute of the match. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Basarab Mustață prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 66 minutes into the game, Cristinel Sticlaru was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. DINAMO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tata the free kick. After a rather tough play, DINAMO's Cristinel Sticlaru got a free kick in the 66th minute. After 70 played minutes DINAMO got a freekick which was hit by Florin Encuțoiu. Marcu Mugur's late challenge caught a DINAMO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcu Mugur helped the player get up and apologised. Marcu Mugur hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Cristinel Sticlaru got his second yellow card in the match during the 78th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Tata booed when DINAMO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristinel Sticlaru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Basarab Mustață made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Marcu Mugur sent off a good shot on target. In the 84th minute, Marcu Mugur made a precise shot to the right of Basarab Mustață. DINAMO's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Marcu Mugur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basarab Mustață having to interfere. In the 89th match minute, DINAMO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorin Ignea to maneuver through the defense. Dan Ivan received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Basarab Mustață came out and tried to block the shot, but Dan Ivan slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 90th minute. The DINAMO fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Tata were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
