Spectators: 6621 (Terracing: 5621, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nistor Penescu started the match with the kick off. Remus Bîlbă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. R.S.C Berca's Aron Ipătescu got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Remus Bîlbă came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the R.S.C Berca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Remus Bîlbă couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nistor Penescu in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Costin Logofeteanu saved Vargata from getting behind. After 11 played minutes Vargata got a freekick which was hit by Aurel Zmărăndescu. R.S.C Berca's Nistor Penescu got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 15 minutes into the match, Vargata's goal looked a bit too open when Remus Bîlbă came free, but Costin Logofeteanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Vargata getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Cosmin Stolojan hit a great ball. Costin Logofeteanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nistor Penescu's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. When Petru Jder fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vargata's protests and gave Petru Jder a yellow card for diving instead. If Remus Bîlbă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Costin Logofeteanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nistor Penescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Vargata's Petru Jder got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Vargata booed when R.S.C Berca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nechifor Stoica didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucian Chitila fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pompiliu Mândrilă having to interfere. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Petru Jder stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind R.S.C Berca's goalkeeper Pompiliu Mândrilă, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. R.S.C Berca's Nistor Penescu got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aurel Zmărăndescu's late challenge caught a R.S.C Berca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aurel Zmărăndescu helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of R.S.C Berca booed when Vargata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurel Zmărăndescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Narcis Miclovan was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 56th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Costin Logofeteanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nistor Penescu in the 57th minute of the match. A collision led to Vargata getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Vintilă Gâgea hit a great ball. Costin Logofeteanu made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Remus Bîlbă sent off a good shot on target. If Nistor Penescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vargata's Costin Logofeteanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nistor Penescu in the 65th minute of play. Remus Bîlbă recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Vargata's zone, Nistor Penescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Costin Logofeteanu came out of the goal and Nistor Penescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Costin Logofeteanu acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 78th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Nechifor Stoica. In the 83rd minute Nistor Penescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Costin Logofeteanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Petru Jder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pompiliu Mândrilă having to interfere. If Lucian Chitila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. R.S.C Berca were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
