Doru Hogaș took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Șerban Voica, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 15 minutes into the match, Laza's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Ionescu came free, but Dinu Murgan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Iulian Vârjean managed to get in a good position for a shot. Laza's supporters rose to their feet, but Iulian Vârjean was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Doru Hogaș breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Laza's Daniel Bala got a free kick in the 19th minute. 1-1 became the score in the 20th minute when Robert Ionescu elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The supporters of Laza booed when Izvorasu AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Șerban Albulescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Iulian Vârjean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ion Ghișerel's late challenge caught a Izvorasu AC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ion Ghișerel helped the player get up and apologised. It was beautiful to see Izvorasu AC's Damian Molodețiu in action when he in the 33rd minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Iulian Vârjean could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Doru Hogaș made a huge save. Iulian Vârjean scored 2-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Doru Hogaș, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Iulian Vârjean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Izvorasu AC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Cristi Şania hit a great ball. Șerban Voica sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Ion Ghișerel hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Izvorasu AC's Șerban Albulescu tried to score from far away in the 53rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Șerban Voica had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Doru Hogaș showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iulian Vârjean in the 64th minute of the match. When Laza's Șerban Voica in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Izvorasu AC's goalie prevented a goal. Doru Hogaș showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iulian Vârjean, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
