In the 21stth minute of the game Șerban Voica who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Los Angeles's Călin Drăgoescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. FC Los Angeles's Denis Tilincă got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. FC Los Angeles's Călin Drăgoescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iulian Vârjean in the 27th minute of play. After 28 played minutes FC Los Angeles got a freekick which was hit by Martin Culiță. Călin Drăgoescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Șerban Voica, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Iulian Vârjean ran back to his position shaking his head. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Călin Bârsan was the one to do the kick off. In the 64th minute Denis Tilincă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dinu Murgan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martin Culiță hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. If Iulian Vârjean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute, Șerban Voica got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
