In the 16th match minute, Fc Arges Pitesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Octav Gaiță to maneuver through the defense. Petrică Busuioc made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aurel Niță in the 21st minute. Aurel Niță's late challenge caught a Fc Arges Pitesti's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aurel Niță couldn't finish the play. If Aurelian Ivan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When Zsombolya AS's Aurel Niță in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Fc Arges Pitesti's goalie prevented a goal. In the 56th minute Gabriel Vulturar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petrică Busuioc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Fc Arges Pitesti booed when Zsombolya AS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurel Niță didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aurelian Ivan's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Manuel Isăilă firmly grabbed it by the left post. Gabriel Vulturar struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Petrică Busuioc didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zsombolya AS. Fc Arges Pitesti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aurelian Ivan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcu Videanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aurel Niță received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Petrică Busuioc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
