Spectators: 7530 (Terracing: 5649, Seating: 1731, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nistor Chirtoacă started the match with the kick off. Alin Baștină fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Călin Drăgoescu having to interfere. FC Los Angeles's Denis Tilincă got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 23rd minute Alin Baștină shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Călin Drăgoescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nistor Chirtoacă in the 27th minute of play forced FC Los Angeles's goalkeeper Călin Drăgoescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Alin Baștină had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Călin Drăgoescu. FC Los Angeles's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alin Baștină was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Alin Baștină recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Florin Ciocoiu kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Martin Culiță kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Aristide Arghirescu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 39th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The FC Los Angeles players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Plaic were winning 0-1.

When Denis Tilincă came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the FC Los Angeles fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Denis Tilincă couldn't finish the play. Alin Baștină might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Călin Drăgoescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alin Baștină ran back to his position shaking his head. Alin Baștină could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Călin Drăgoescu made a huge save. Călin Drăgoescu made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Alin Baștină sent off a good shot on target. In the 62nd minute Călin Bârsan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dacian Deliman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alin Baștină succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-2 in the 74th playminute. A collision led to Plaic getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Eugen Manu hit a great ball. Nistor Chirtoacă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
