Codruț Luncanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augustin Spirea in the 4th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Florin Penescu during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Florin Penescu hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Victor Stroescu struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Codruț Luncanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Setu AC. FC Ripensia Timișoara's Codruț Luncanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augustin Spirea in the 12th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, FC Ripensia Timișoara's goal looked a bit too open when Augustin Spirea came free, but Codruț Luncanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Codruț Luncanu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Victor Stroescu went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Basarab Negoescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Basarab Negoescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 21st minute, Moise Trăistaru left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Ripensia Timișoara fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After having played for 28 minutes, Moise Trăistaru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Ripensia Timișoara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moise Trăistaru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 35th play minute Victor Stroescu came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Codruț Luncanu. 2-1. Moise Bran kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. In the 44th minute Augustin Spirea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Codruț Luncanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 48th minute, Florin Penescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 49th minute, Cristinel Berca sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and FC Ripensia Timișoara's Codruț Luncanu didn't even have to move. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Augustin Spirea to make the kick off. FC Ripensia Timișoara's Moise Trăistaru got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Moise Trăistaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 56 minutes into the game, Ion Dindelegan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Setu AC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Ripensia Timișoara the free kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Moise Trăistaru managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Ripensia Timișoara's supporters rose to their feet, but Moise Trăistaru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Virgil Berevoescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Moise Trăistaru's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Virgil Berevoescu was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Basarab Negoescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Setu AC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Vlad Nechifor hit a great ball. 66 minutes into the match, Setu AC's goal looked a bit too open when Basarab Negoescu came free, but Virgil Berevoescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Toader Vârșan during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 69th minute, one of FC Ripensia Timișoara:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Ripensia Timișoara. The referee gave Setu AC a penalty, 71 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Cristinel Berca, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of FC Ripensia Timișoara's Codruț Luncanu. 3-1. Augustin Spirea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Codruț Luncanu having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, Basarab Negoescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Virgil Berevoescu. Setu AC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Basarab Negoescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. Setu AC's Virgil Berevoescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Setu AC from getting a goal against them. After 89 played minutes Setu AC got a freekick which was hit by Gavril Şimoc. 90 minutes into the match, Setu AC's goal looked a bit too open when Moise Trăistaru came free, but Virgil Berevoescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Basarab Negoescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgil Berevoescu having to interfere. When the match clock showed 94 minutes, the score became 3-4 when Basarab Negoescu sped through Setu AC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Virgil Berevoescu. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. FC Ripensia Timișoara had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
