An unexpectedly hard shot by Avram Semeghin in the 13th minute of play forced CS UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA's goalkeeper Bogdan Mangra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The nice shot from Denis Muscă in the 17thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Denis Paulescu had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Bogdan Mangra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horia Antipa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SS Gașca Nebună's Horia Antipa got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristinel Tapalagă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Denis Paulescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd match minute, SS Gașca Nebună was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silviu Liciu to maneuver through the defense. SS Gașca Nebună's Denis Paulescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristinel Tapalagă in the 34th minute of play. Bogdan Mangra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silviu Liciu, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. CS UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SS Gașca Nebună the free kick. In the 46th minute, Martin Udrescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bogdan Mangra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silviu Liciu in the 48th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Silviu Liciu made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Horia Antipa got free with Bogdan Mangra in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Eduard Lucaci fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SS Gașca Nebună's protests and gave Eduard Lucaci a yellow card for diving instead. After 55 played minutes SS Gașca Nebună got a freekick which was hit by Eduard Lucaci. Cristinel Tapalagă's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Denis Paulescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Cristinel Tapalagă might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Denis Paulescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristinel Tapalagă ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 63rd minute, Denis Muscă got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SS Gașca Nebună's Silviu Liciu got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bogdan Mangra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silviu Liciu, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Bogdan Mangra made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Horia Antipa sent off a good shot on target. If Denis Muscă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. CS UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
