Spectators: 7496 (Terracing: 5623, Seating: 1724, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gavril Enășoiu started the match with the kick off. When Basarab Negoescu came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the FC Ripensia Timișoara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basarab Negoescu couldn't finish the play. 6 minutes had been played when some careless play by Zorileasca's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Valeriu Bidulescu was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Ripensia Timișoara's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Valeriu Bidulescu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Zorileasca's Ernest Mihuț did a great save. Moise Trăistaru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Aurel Cezar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Moise Bran fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Ripensia Timișoara's protests and gave Moise Bran a yellow card for diving instead. After 13 played minutes FC Ripensia Timișoara got a freekick which was hit by Moise Bran. After 14 played minutes FC Ripensia Timișoara got a freekick which was hit by Basarab Negoescu. Moise Bran hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute, FC Ripensia Timișoara's Toader Vârșan seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Toader Vârșan the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC Ripensia Timișoara protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Toader Vârșan had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 21 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC Ripensia Timișoara! In the 26th match minute, Zorileasca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Nisipeanu to maneuver through the defense. In the 30th minute, Aurel Cezar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gavril Enășoiu in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Codruț Luncanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Basarab Negoescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernest Mihuț having to interfere. Codruț Luncanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gavril Enășoiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aurel Cezar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dorin Stan charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dorin Stan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dorin Stan hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Basarab Negoescu made the kick off in the second half. When Zorileasca's Gavril Enășoiu in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Ripensia Timișoara's goalie prevented a goal. Zorileasca's Ernest Mihuț proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Zorileasca from getting a goal against them. Horaţiu Daimacă recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Basarab Negoescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Ernest Mihuț tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gavril Enășoiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Codruț Luncanu having to interfere. When Gavril Enășoiu came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Zorileasca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gavril Enășoiu couldn't finish the play. Aurel Cezar struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Codruț Luncanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zorileasca. Codruț Luncanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aurel Cezar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Codruț Luncanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gavril Enășoiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Aurel Cezar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
