The referee ignored CSU Asesoft Ploiesti's protests and gave Rareș Jivulescu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to CSU Asesoft Ploiesti getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Rareș Jivulescu hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicolae Vasiliu got free with Nicodim Şunda in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 10 minutes into the match, CSU Asesoft Ploiesti's goalkeeper Nicodim Şunda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Viorel Stănoiu. Petelei AFC's Nicolae Vasiliu got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Nicolae Vasiliu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicodim Şunda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viorel Stănoiu in the 17th minute of the match. Valer Răduț showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rareș Jivulescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Viorel Stănoiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Nicodim Şunda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to CSU Asesoft Ploiesti getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Dinu Turbatu hit a great ball. In the 32nd minute, Viorel Stănoiu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nicodim Şunda. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 37th minute, Petelei AFC's Viorel Stănoiu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. A collision led to Petelei AFC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Valentin Bărnuțiu hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Rareș Jivulescu made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Rareș Mihăilă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Nicolae Vasiliu came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Petelei AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicolae Vasiliu couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Nicolae Vasiliu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Petelei AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicolae Vasiliu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicodim Şunda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in CSU Asesoft Ploiesti's zone, Nicolae Vasiliu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicodim Şunda came out of the goal and Nicolae Vasiliu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Viorel Stănoiu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nicodim Şunda having to make a save. Nicolae Vasiliu scored 3-0 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nicodim Şunda, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Petelei AFC's Nicolae Vasiliu got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Viorel Stănoiu in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicodim Şunda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 82nd minute, Nicolae Vasiliu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicolae Vasiliu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicodim Şunda having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Viorel Stănoiu in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. CSU Asesoft Ploiesti's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
