Dorin Ilica could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Sorin Cismaș made a huge save. The supporters of Runcurel CSS booed when FC Burebista was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorin Ghiondea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ion Ciocârlan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petre Mărăscu having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gică Paveliuc during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gică Paveliuc kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Runcurel CSS's Sorin Cismaș proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Runcurel CSS from getting a goal against them. In the 22nd minute, Tiberiu Carp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Dorin Ilica had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Dorin Ilica managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Burebista's supporters rose to their feet, but Dorin Ilica was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sorin Cismaș breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 34th minute, Basarab Floruțiu fired a really elegant long shot, but Sorin Cismaș threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Sorin Cismaș took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiberiu Carp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Șerban Mantoiu in the 40th minute of play forced Runcurel CSS's goalkeeper Sorin Cismaș to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Dorel Popoacă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Tiberiu Carp fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Burebista's protests and gave Tiberiu Carp a yellow card for diving instead. In the 43rd minute, Tiberiu Carp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ion Ciocârlan to strike the kick off in the second half. Petre Mărăscu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ion Ciocârlan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Petre Mărăscu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute Dorin Ilica shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sorin Cismaș saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 92 played minutes, Runcurel CSS's Ionică Pârvulescu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Petre Mărăscu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Runcurel CSS reached it.
