Petru Todericiu was out of position in the 11 minute of play, and Mugurel Sbârcea capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mugurel Sbârcea really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. 14 minutes into the game, AS Roma Braila's Pavel Oțeteleșanu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. David Petrea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. A collision led to Borussia Dortmund getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Mădălin Meleșcanu hit a great ball. In the game's 20th minute AS Roma Braila's Costică Mudura took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of David Petrea and thus the score was 2-2. David Petrea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costică Mudura in the 27th minute of play. When Costică Mudura came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the AS Roma Braila fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Costică Mudura couldn't finish the play. The referee ignored Borussia Dortmund's protests and gave Marin Isvoreanu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 68th minute, Mihăiţă Vârșan fired a really elegant long shot, but David Petrea threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. David Petrea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Costică Mudura's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Pavel Oțeteleșanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Petrea having to interfere. AS Roma Braila's Costică Mudura got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Costică Mudura kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving David Petrea. That made the score 2-7 in the 93 minute of play. 96 minutes into the game, AS Roma Braila's Costică Mudura nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. David Petrea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-8. AS Roma Braila played a much better game than Borussia Dortmund and deserved their victory. The Borussia Dortmund players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
