In the 19th minute, Irinel Ignat hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dorel Popoacă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Petru Todericiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Runcurel CSS's Dorel Popoacă sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Petru Todericiu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Costică Mudura struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Sorin Cismaș didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AS Roma Braila. After 34 played minutes AS Roma Braila got a freekick which was hit by Mihăiţă Ungureanu. Emil Cubleșan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 38 played minutes Runcurel CSS got a freekick which was hit by Grigore Cristache. Sorin Cismaș took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pavel Oțeteleșanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 47 minutes, Pavel Oțeteleșanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AS Roma Braila's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pavel Oțeteleșanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ion Ciocârlan to strike the kick off in the second half. Petru Todericiu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ion Ciocârlan showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 52 minute of play. Sorin Cismaș made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costică Mudura in the 56th minute of play. The supporters of AS Roma Braila booed when Runcurel CSS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emil Cubleșan didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gică Paveliuc in the 66th minute of play forced AS Roma Braila's goalkeeper Petru Todericiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Petru Todericiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ion Ciocârlan, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. AS Roma Braila's supporters rose to their feet, but Pavel Oțeteleșanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sorin Cismaș breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. There was no doubt that AS Roma Braila were the better team. AS Roma Braila's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
