In the 24th minute, Tiberiu Ţopescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's Răzvan Bocaneț broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. In the 33rd minute, Cătălin Zotincă got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cătălin Zotincă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. David Petrea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 42 minutes into the game, Marin Isvoreanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Borussia Dortmund's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave TG. Mures ASA the free kick.
