Emanuel Zdrobău took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ferdinand Muntian. Ferdinand Muntian dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 11th minute of the match, Calistrat Stanciu got a very nice opportunity to score, but Petre Brânza was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a little luck, FC Dinamo Buzau's Petre Brânza got control of the ball when Teodor Anghel tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 13th match minute, FC Dinamo Buzau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augustin Ştoia to maneuver through the defense. Nicu Stăniloaie's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Petre Brânza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Calistrat Stanciu might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Petre Brânza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Calistrat Stanciu ran back to his position shaking his head. 19 minutes into the match, Steaua Dărmănești's Teodor Anghel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Petre Brânza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 20th minute by Calistrat Stanciu got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Nicu Stăniloaie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Calistrat Stanciu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Calistrat Stanciu got free with Petre Brânza in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

A collision led to Steaua Dărmănești getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Mihăiţă Avram hit a great ball. Teodor Anghel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Petre Brânza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Calistrat Stanciu, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Ferdinand Muntian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augustin Ştoia in the 59th minute of play. In the 67th match minute, Steaua Dărmănești was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leontin Bîndean to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Steaua Dărmănești booed when FC Dinamo Buzau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nae Mirciulescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 75 minutes, Teodor Anghel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Steaua Dărmănești's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teodor Anghel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in FC Dinamo Buzau's zone, Calistrat Stanciu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Petre Brânza came out of the goal and Calistrat Stanciu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Nicu Stăniloaie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Steaua Dărmănești's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicu Stăniloaie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Petre Brânza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Calistrat Stanciu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in FC Dinamo Buzau's zone, Nicu Stăniloaie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Petre Brânza came out of the goal and Nicu Stăniloaie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Calistrat Stanciu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 91st minute, FC Dinamo Buzau's Augustin Ştoia ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ferdinand Muntian. Ferdinand Muntian yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. The FC Dinamo Buzau players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
