Cristi Bobariu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iulian Codru having to interfere. After 22 minutes, Cazimir Chirnoagă mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the UTA Arad 1945 and the Cojani CS players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 23rd minute, Eduard Ghiurutan sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and UTA Arad 1945's Eusebiu Blidaru didn't even have to move. 25 minutes into the match, Manuel Mutu notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of UTA Arad 1945's Eusebiu Blidaru. Eusebiu Blidaru was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Codruț Muscaș came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the UTA Arad 1945 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Codruț Muscaș couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Mihai Banu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cojani CS's supporters rose to their feet, but Mihai Banu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eusebiu Blidaru breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristi Bobariu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Iulian Codru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Cojani CS were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Cristi Bobariu made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Augustin Mitu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iulian Codru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Codruț Muscaș, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Mihai Banu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Eusebiu Blidaru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mihai Banu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eusebiu Blidaru read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Adam Şerb kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Iulian Codru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristi Bobariu in the 89th minute of play. Mihai Banu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 93 minutes into the match, Cojani CS's Manuel Mutu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eusebiu Blidaru narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Manuel Mutu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eusebiu Blidaru having to make a save. In the 99th minute the ball was on its way in behind UTA Arad 1945's goalkeeper Eusebiu Blidaru, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cojani CS's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
