In the 6th match minute, Fc Dede was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Mihaiu to maneuver through the defense. 11 minutes into the game, Mircea Geoană recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Eusebiu Blidaru. Ernest Stolniciu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristi Bobariu, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 21st minute, Anton Bratu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Anton Bratu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eusebiu Blidaru was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Cristi Bobariu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ernest Stolniciu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. UTA Arad 1945 were awarded a corner in the 49th minute after Fc Dede's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mugurel Cazacu took the corner. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cristi Bobariu made a kick off. Fc Dede's Ernest Stolniciu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Fc Dede from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Fc Dede's zone, Cristi Bobariu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernest Stolniciu came out of the goal and Cristi Bobariu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mircea Geoană recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 62nd minute, UTA Arad 1945's Cristi Bobariu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ernest Stolniciu. Ernest Stolniciu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Mircea Geoană put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Eusebiu Blidaru. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mihnea Vâlceanu during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
