Ion Zgârcu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doru Țepelea having to interfere. Valer Craia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Emil Condeescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sebastian Tătăruşanu hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 36th match minute, Bucova was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Udrescu to maneuver through the defense. Emil Condeescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valer Craia in the 38th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Valer Craia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bucova's Bogdan Vărzaru got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 47 minutes into the game, Bogdan Vărzaru cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Doru Țepelea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Valer Craia to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Valer Craia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Inter Pitesti's supporters rose to their feet, but Valer Craia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emil Condeescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Emil Condeescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florin Manu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dumitru Manciulea hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Doru Țepelea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mădălin Ghișerel in the 65th minute of the match. A collision led to Inter Pitesti getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Sebastian Tătăruşanu hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Bucova's Doru Țepelea threw himself towards the right post 67 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bogdan Vărzaru, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ion Zgârcu got free with Doru Țepelea in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 72 minutes into the game, Gigel Pelin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bucova's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Inter Pitesti the free kick. The supporters of Inter Pitesti booed when Bucova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gigel Pelin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emil Condeescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valer Craia in the 85th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Bucova's Bogdan Vărzaru sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Doru Țepelea narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 98 minutes into the game, Valer Craia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Emil Condeescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Bucova had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
