Călin Pădureanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Pâslaru having to interfere. If Mihăiţă Mîțu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the match, CS Targoviste's goal looked a bit too open when Mihăiţă Mîțu came free, but Doru Sărăroiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Felix Fărcășan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Axi Barbershop's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Fărcășan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Doru Sărăroiu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Doru Sărăroiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mihăiţă Mîțu, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Felix Fărcășan to strike the kick off in the second half. Doru Sărăroiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Fărcășan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felix Fărcășan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Doru Sărăroiu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. CS Targoviste's Doru Sărăroiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Fărcășan in the 58th minute of play. After 59 played minutes CS Targoviste got a freekick which was hit by Marcu Tilincă. After 60 played minutes, Axi Barbershop's Sebastian Minulescu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Doru Sărăroiu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Axi Barbershop reached it. After a defensive mix-up in CS Targoviste's zone, Mihăiţă Mîțu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Doru Sărăroiu came out of the goal and Mihăiţă Mîțu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 64th minute, Alex Văleanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Iosif Lupașcu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mihăiţă Mîțu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 72 played minutes CS Targoviste got a freekick which was hit by Martin Astafiei. Felix Fărcășan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Doru Sărăroiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Fărcășan in the 76th minute of play. Gabriel Pâslaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Călin Pădureanu in the 81st minute of the match. With a little luck, CS Targoviste's Doru Sărăroiu got control of the ball when Mihăiţă Mîțu tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Felix Fărcășan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Doru Sărăroiu was relentless in the 88th minute of the game.
