Spectators: 6500 (Terracing: 4800, Seating: 1600, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Emilian Cinteză tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 6 minutes into the match, CS Targoviste's Călin Pădureanu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emilian Cinteză narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Emilian Cinteză showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iosif Lupașcu, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. With a little luck, CS Targoviste's Doru Sărăroiu got control of the ball when Aristide Enache tried to sneak it across the goal line. Iosif Lupașcu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Victor Avădanei to strike the kick off in the second half. Marcu Tilincă's late challenge caught a Ostrovul Q's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
