After a defensive mix-up in FC Red Wolf's zone, Basarab Huțanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Virgil Iosifian came out of the goal and Basarab Huțanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Laurențiu Gheție showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gică Burdulea in the 21st minute of the match. After 23 played minutes FC Red Wolf got a freekick which was hit by Gică Burdulea. Iulian Simuţ sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Basarab Huțanu hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Laurențiu Gheție took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Irinel Ticulescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gică Burdulea kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Bogdan Huștiu, 33 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a defensive mix-up in FC Red Wolf's zone, Bogdan Huștiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Virgil Iosifian came out of the goal and Bogdan Huștiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Iulian Simuţ fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgil Iosifian having to interfere. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Red Wolf's goalkeeper Virgil Iosifian, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 43 minutes into the match, Cirjoani's goal looked a bit too open when Irinel Ticulescu came free, but Laurențiu Gheție reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Laurențiu Gheție made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gică Burdulea in the 44th minute of play. Basarab Huțanu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Virgil Iosifian having to make a save. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bogdan Malcoci to make the kick off. With his leg Laurențiu Gheție managed to avoid a goal in the 54thth minute, when FC Red Wolf's Dumitru Bernea fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 57th match minute, Cirjoani was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horaţiu Runcu to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dumitru Bernea got free with Laurențiu Gheție in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 66th minute, FC Red Wolf's Bogdan Malcoci ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Laurențiu Gheție. Laurențiu Gheție yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. Dumitru Bernea who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 69thth minute tested the skills of Laurențiu Gheție when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Basarab Huțanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th minute, FC Red Wolf's Irinel Ticulescu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Laurențiu Gheție. Laurențiu Gheție yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Matei Balc kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. When Iulian Simuţ, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 86 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Virgil Iosifian was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Basarab Huțanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Cirjoani lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
