Nadas's defense didn't have a chance, in the 10th minute, when Gigel Piersic scored to the left of an out of position Emilian Răchită, making the score, 2-0. In the 16th minute, Gelu Hogaș got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Athletico Juniors booed when Nadas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiberiu Velicu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Narcis Codrescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gelu Hogaș in the 23rd minute of play. Emilian Răchită was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Codrin Chirea showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 24 minute of play. Codrin Chirea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Emilian Răchită tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Emilian Răchită managed to avoid a goal in the 34thth minute, when Athletico Juniors's Gigel Piersic fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Emilian Răchită showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eduard Manciulea, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Emilian Răchită made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Gigel Piersic sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Panait Şteflea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Athletico Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Panait Şteflea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gelu Hogaș was the one to do the kick off. Athletico Juniors's Dumitru Bădilescu got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Narcis Codrescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mădălin Axinia in the 79th minute. Emilian Răchită made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gigel Piersic in the 80th minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, Nadas's goal looked a bit too open when Eduard Manciulea came free, but Emilian Răchită reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emilian Răchită showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eduard Manciulea, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Athletico Juniors fully deserved thier win.
