In the 42ndth minute of the game Flavius Floreanu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC HERMANNSTADT's Ionel Andronic was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Fc Poli Unirea Iasi's Cătălin Țepelea sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ionel Andronic narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cătălin Țepelea blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ionel Andronic having to make a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 58th minute, Tiberiu Gliga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Flavius Floreanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Ionel Andronic made a huge save. With a little luck, FC HERMANNSTADT's Ionel Andronic got control of the ball when Flavius Floreanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gică Bornescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiberiu Gliga in the 91st minute of the match. In the 93rd minute of the match FC HERMANNSTADT got a corner. Fc Poli Unirea Iasi's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Irinel Oproiu ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Tiberiu Gliga heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Fc Poli Unirea Iasi walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
