Spectators: 7223 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Cătălin Țepelea took the kick off in the first half of the match. Ferdinand Zubaşcu kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. If Costin Cara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iulian Ionășescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cătălin Țepelea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ferdinand Zubaşcu hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Costin Cara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Flavius Floreanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iulian Ionășescu having to interfere. With a little luck, Fc Poli Unirea Iasi's Gică Bornescu got control of the ball when Călin Mititelu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fc Poli Unirea Iasi's Gică Bornescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Fc Poli Unirea Iasi from getting a goal against them. Olteanu's Iulian Ionășescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cătălin Țepelea in the 40th minute of play. In the 42nd minute Flavius Floreanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iulian Ionășescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Călin Mititelu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Gică Bornescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Costin Cara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Costin Cara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Flavius Floreanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Iulian Ionășescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 56 minutes into the match, Olteanu's goalkeeper Iulian Ionășescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cătălin Țepelea. When Ferdinand Zubaşcu fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fc Poli Unirea Iasi's protests and gave Ferdinand Zubaşcu a yellow card for diving instead. After 64 played minutes Fc Poli Unirea Iasi got a freekick which was hit by Ferdinand Zubaşcu. Flavius Floreanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Iulian Ionășescu made a huge save. 77 minutes into the match, Olteanu's goal looked a bit too open when Cătălin Țepelea came free, but Iulian Ionășescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Olteanu's zone, Flavius Floreanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iulian Ionășescu came out of the goal and Flavius Floreanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 89th minute Cătălin Țepelea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iulian Ionășescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 94 minutes into the game, Olteanu's Călin Mititelu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gică Bornescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Olteanu were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
