With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nistor Ciociu in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valentin Udrişte saved Academy Football Club from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nistor Ciociu in the 17th minute of play forced Academy Football Club's goalkeeper Valentin Udrişte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sever Răduța stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Petre Homescu's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. The audience was convinced that Petre Homescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sever Răduța was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Mihăiţă Văduva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Academy Football Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Mihăiţă Văduva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sever Răduța breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Petre Homescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. FC LEII's Sever Răduța played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihăiţă Văduva in the 42nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nistor Ciociu in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valentin Udrişte prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 48 minutes into the match, FC LEII's goal looked a bit too open when Mihăiţă Văduva came free, but Sever Răduța reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Emanuel Chifu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Petre Homescu succeeded in the game's 55th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. Academy Football Club's Valentin Udrişte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Chifu in the 58th minute of play. When Petre Homescu came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Academy Football Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Petre Homescu couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mihăiţă Văduva got free with Sever Răduța in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Chifu in the 63rd minute of play forced Academy Football Club's goalkeeper Valentin Udrişte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ilie Voiculescu fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Academy Football Club's protests and gave Ilie Voiculescu a yellow card for diving instead. After 66 played minutes Academy Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Ilie Voiculescu. Sever Răduța was a little too slow when Petre Homescu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 72nd minute. The score was now 0-2. Nistor Ciociu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentin Udrişte having to interfere. Valentin Udrişte stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nistor Ciociu's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. 81 minutes into the match, Academy Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Chifu came free, but Valentin Udrişte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Academy Football Club's zone, Nistor Ciociu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valentin Udrişte came out of the goal and Nistor Ciociu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emanuel Chifu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valentin Udrişte read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Nistor Ciociu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
