Spectators: 7658 (Terracing: 5745, Seating: 1761, VIP seats: 152) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cezar Firoiu started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Gavril Sichitiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Horia Maftei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Ştefan Răzvan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With splendid footwork Valer Gârneț arrived in front of goal to shoot 1-0 by the left pole in the game's 8th minute. In the 14th minute, Birceii FC's Gavril Sichitiu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ştefan Răzvan. Ştefan Răzvan yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. In the 34th minute, Valer Gârneț ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ştefan Răzvan was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Claudiu Josan hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. After 40 played minutes, Berbesu's Valer Bulencea shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mircea Macavei came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Berbesu reached it. Berbesu's Cezar Firoiu got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Cezar Firoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gavril Sichitiu's late challenge caught a Berbesu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gavril Sichitiu helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Berbesu booed when Birceii FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gavril Sichitiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Horia Maftei stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Eduard Spârlea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 55 minutes into the match, Birceii FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cezar Firoiu came free, but Mircea Macavei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valer Gârneț fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ştefan Răzvan having to interfere. In the 58th minute Horia Maftei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ştefan Răzvan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Eduard Spârlea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ştefan Răzvan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horia Maftei in the 68th minute of the match. In the 72nd minute, Horia Maftei ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ştefan Răzvan was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Eduard Spârlea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Mircea Macavei made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valer Gârneț in the 79th minute of play forced Berbesu's goalkeeper Ştefan Răzvan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horia Maftei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cezar Firoiu charged in rather forcefully in the 97th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cezar Firoiu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 97th match minute, Berbesu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cezar Firoiu to maneuver through the defense.
